Mr. Cameron Baker (a native of Smithfield, NC) is
entering his third year as the Director of Bands at Kellam
High School. For two years previous to Kellam,
Mr. Baker had been working in the small, rural town of
LaGrange, NC where he served as the Director of Bands at E.B. Frink Middle School. Mr. Baker is a 2004 graduate
of East Carolina University, where he holds a Bachelor’s
of Music Degree in Music Education.
Mr. Baker has performed with
many outstanding groups over the years. Some include
the 2002 Drum and Bugle Corps (DCI) Division II World
Champion Magic of Orlando, as well as the 1999 and 2000
Division I world finalist Carolina Crown. Most
recently, Mr. Baker has been a member of the 2005 Drum
Corps Associates (DCA) World Finalist Carolina Gold.
Mr. Baker arrived to Kellam in the summer of 2006 after a national
tour teaching the DCI Division II World Finalist Teal
Sound Drum and Bugle Corps. Mr. Baker is a member of
the Music Educators National Conference, the Virginia
Music Educator’s Association, the Virginia Beach
Educator’s Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Symphonia,
professional Music Fraternity for men.
Mr. Baker is very excited to be returning
to Kellam
and looks forward to teaching students to have the same
passion and drive for music he has. |
