1966 korbo@korbo.com Trumpet I attended Kellam and played in the band from 9th grade through graduation.  The class of '66 was the second graduating class.  I was a serious trumpet player then, because I loved the instrument.  I was also the first male drum major (Kathryn Shores was the first drum major, class of '65).  After a year at East Carolina School of Music, I decided I needed more time to "ripen", so I went off on a different path.  I am a retired Army Medical Department Major, currently teaching college biology.  Yep, I still play .. flugelhorn, violin, and accordions(!!).  I miss you Kellam.

bigrodennis@etcmail.com Tuba I was in the band in 1965-1966. I was a Junior at the time and 1 of 2 tuba players. My father retired from the Coast Guard and we moved to Florida. I loved the band (I think we were known as the Lancer Band at that time) and Mr. Profitt was our director. I am living in Georgia now and my son followed in my footsteps as a tubist at his high school. He was much better. I would love to hear from some of the old gang.

During my time at Kellam High (then 8th – 12th grades),  Jack Sperry was the Director. After leaving Kellam in ’77, I went to Norfolk State University as a Music Major. Later (1978), I joined the Air Force. I’m into electronic music and recording at this point (2008). Can’t thank Mr. Sperry and his tutoring enough, for the skills I have to this day.

You can hear some of my music at:  www.cefshah.com

I was in the Kellam High School Band from 1978 to 1980. Our director was Jack Sperry my sophomore year, then David Correll for my junior and senior year. I had the honor of playing in the wind ensemble for all three years, and being in the first stage band at Kellam. I was first chair state my junior year on Tenor sax. Now I live near Seattle, WA.
